Youth Services Program Registration Information
For information regarding Youth Services, please call 708-458-2880 x 106.
Please check out the calendar link here or pick up a brochure and calendar at the Youth Services desk.
Space is limited and a maximum capacity number has been set for each program.
Some programs require that participants be within a certain age range.
Age requirements will be enforced to ensure a pleasant experience for all.
Age requirements will be stated in the brochure or on the website.

What's the difference???
Grade parameters for programs are for the 2025/2026 school year.
AGE parameters for programs is the age of child on the date of the program.
Fall session1
Registration at the Youth Services desk begins 30 minutes before each program.
No registration for Drop-In programs.
Mondays beginning September 8th at 11am—Nature & Nurture Storytime: This mom and baby storytime will feature lots of songs, reading together, developmentally appropriate toys, and nature based activities. Share a love of reading and learning with your baby as well as connect with other parents and caregivers! AGES 0-9mo MAX 8
Monday, September 8th at 4pm—Kite Craft: Catch the fall breeze by making your very own kite. We will be decorating our own kites for you to fly outside and enjoy the weather. GRADES K-6th MAX 20
Tuesdays beginning September 9th at 4pm—Ready to Read: Join us for a phonics based program that will help your reader grow! We will practice letter sounds and three letter words in each lesson. GRADES K-2nd MAX 10
Wednesdays beginning September 10th at 1pm—Homeschool Geography Club: Travel the world this fall with our Homeschool Geography Club! Each week will feature a different country and a new page in our passports. We will learn some words in a new language, play a game the locals love, and enjoy some tasty snacks.

Wednesdays, September 10th, 24th & October 8th at 4pm—Mystery Book Club: Kids will choose their own MYSTERY genre book at our first club date. Come back for the next club to discuss your book with the group. On Oct. 8th club we will be solving a Mystery inside the library! Grades 3rd—6th MAX 15
Fridays beginning September 12th at 11am—Book, Boogie & Play!: The best of both worlds for our toddlers! We will read a story, boogie to music with instruments, and finish the remaining time playing together. AGES 18mo to 4 years MAX 15
Friday, September 12th & October 10th from 3pm to 5pm—Drop-in Fine Art Friday: Drop in each month to learn about famous artists and try out different fine art techniques! Grades 4th—8th
Saturday, September 13th, 20th & 27th at 3pm—Family Book Club: Develop a love of reading together as a family. For September we will be reading Heartwood Hotel: A True Home by Kallie George. Each week we will read and talk about the book, have a small snack, and make a craft. Plan to attend all three sessions.
GRADES K-6th MAX 12 families
Tuesday, September 23rd from 5 to 7 pm—Drop-in Creation Station: Drop in anytime during the program’s time to do a STEAM based activity. (Although this is a drop in program—we can only accommodate 12 kids at a time—your child may have to wait until a spot is available. In order to finish an activity before the end of the program, no one will be admitted after 6:45pm) GRADES K-6th
Thursday, September 25th at 6:30pm—Children’s Lotería: Let’s build your child’s vocabulary together with Mexican Bingo! Grab a tabla (“board”) and play Lotería (“lottery”) with us at Bridgeview Library. What a fun way to show off what they know and learn some new words along the way! GRADES K-6th MAX 20

Monday, September 29th at 4pm—Monarch Storytime: Join us for a story time to learn about the Migration of the Monarch butterfly to Mexico. We will finish up with a craft. AGES 4—7yrs MAX 15
Wednesday, October 1st at 4pm—Potato Circuits: Hot Potato!! We’re going to test how a potato can act as a battery to power a small electrical device like an LED. GRADES 3rd to 6th MAX 10
Thursday, October 9th at 6:30pm—Printmaking Exploration: Try out different printmaking techniques to create your own artwork! We will have different stations to experiment with paint, chalk, and ink. GRADES K-6th MAX 10
Saturday, October 11th from 2 to 4pm—Drop-in Legos & Play doh: What’s your favorite, Lego or Play doh? This program let’s you choose both! Come and be creative at the Library. AGES 3 to 12 years
Tuesday, October 16th at 4pm—Galaxy Paint: Create your own unique celestial scene on canvas using acrylic paints. GRADES 3rd to 6th MAX 15
Saturday, October 18th at 2pm—Family Mario Kart: Parents vs. Kids. Who will be the champion at Mario Kart? This program is meant for families to play together. PLEASE remain with your children. We will be taking turns playing with other families.
Fall session 1 Special Events
Saturday, October 4th 2pm to 4pm—Bridgeview Fire Department Touch A Truck: A fun and interactive event for the entire family! Touch-A-Truck will provide guests with a special hands-on opportunity to experience a fire truck and ambulance from Bridgeview Fire Department. We will also have a special visitor from Texas Roadhouse! Additional fire safety craft activities will be available for the kids inside the library. ALL AGES West parking lot. Weather permitting
Saturday, October 25th at 2pm—Wings & Talons Hoo goes there?: This program will teach kids how to identify commonly found raptors by sight and sound. Raptors are birds of prey like owls, hawks and falcons, and there are many raptor species that we can expect to find around us, if we know how to look for them. We will learn where to look for raptors, how to observe and compare their shape, colors, markings and movement characteristics to recognize them. We will also learn to name raptors that we cannot see but just hear, by the calls they make. All ages show No registration required.
2025 Halloween Events

Wednesday, October 22nd at 4pm—Edible Haunted House: Will your haunted house be spooky or cute? Make your own completely edible haunted house, decorate it with the supplies given to you and then eat it up at the end. GRADES K-6th MAX 20
Friday, October 24th at 11am—Not so spooky storytime: Come dressed in your costume to celebrate Halloween together at the library in a not so spooky way! We’ll read some stories, sing and dance to some fun songs, and create an easy Halloween themed craft. We’ll finish up with a parade around the library for some treats! Pre-Registration starts October 20th until capacity is reached.

Tuesday, October 28th at 6:30pm—Monster Mash Craft: Get creative and have some fun making your own silly monster craft. GRADES K-6th MAX 20
Thursday, October 30th at 6:30pm: Day of the Dead Bi-lingual storytime: Come celebrate the Day of the Dead with us at Bridgeview Library! We will read a bilingual story about the holiday and complete a fun craft.

Friday, October 31st from 3 to 6pm—Trick or Treat @ the Library: Be sure to stop in at the Library on Halloween to show off your costume and receive a sweet treat, or trick! ALL AGES
